Psychosexual TherapyOnce any medical aspects that may be contributing to the problem are ruled out by the GP, psychosexual therapy then explores psychologically and behaviourally what is going on for the clients.
After a thorough assessment a bespoke treatment plan is recommended, tailored to the clients needs, to produce the most appropriate results. Much of the work is educative. The sexual anatomy and sexual response cycle are discussed, unrealistic expectations, mistaken attitudes and performance anxieties are addressed.
Exercises are tailored to the clients needs to do in the privacy of their own homes. No sexual tasks are carried out in the consulting room.
